RAISING HELL IN DENVER
On March 10th, 2024, Denver’s own Gothic Theatre welcomed rock n’ roll duo Twin Temple with open arms and a couple of pitchforks. Alexandra and Zachary James are a married couple and the dual masterminds behind the controversial band that has accrued a steadfast following, and angry mob, since the release of their first song “Girl Trouble” back in 2017. The band is currently in the midst of their headlining God Is Dead tour.
SIN FOR SIN
Twin Temple has resuscitated 60’s pop rock with vocals reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and the kind of controversial lyricism every parent prays they never hear coming from behind their child’s door. The band writes about topics such as feminism, sex and love, and Satanism, which many people have not taken to kindly. After overzealous radio show host Alex Jones caught wind of the band’s beliefs, he did not hesitate to bash them, claiming they are “the embodiment of pure evil”-- a statement the James’ ultimately didn’t mind. But the doxxing, death threats, and hundreds of Bibles sent to the couple’s house brought them the kind of exposure no artist ever really wishes for.

THE FOUNDATION OF TWIN TEMPLE
Alexandra’s inspiration behind Twin Temple arised from her experience with racism growing up in America as a British-Korean. Her encounters spurred her to bring light to the hate and bigotry that minorities, such as mixed race and LGBTQ+ folk, have faced in America for decades. Through music, Alexandra herself found the strength to add her own voice to the mix, standing up for not only the mistreated and abused, but her own beliefs as well. Guitarist and husband Zach shares these beliefs, steadfast beside his wife despite all the heat thrown their way (from both the haters and the infamous lake in Hell). After facing said heat, the couple decided to go all out in their blasphemy with their most recent album God Is Dead, twenty eight minutes and five seconds worth of pure sex and Satanism. Even thirty seconds of one song would be enough to knock the wind out of anyone’s granny. Their top hit “Let’s Have A Satanic Orgy” is from this album, already having racked up over 2 million streams since its release in October 2023. How many of those streams are from haters, it’s hard to say, but even the skeptics have to admit Twin Temple has found a good groove.
JOIN THE COVEN
The band’s kitchen-waltz and pre-ritual tunes can be found on all streaming platforms as the love-struck couple wraps up their God Is Dead tour.
